NativeAccent for Teachers: 06 - Create and distribute assignments

CREATE AND DISTRIBUTE ASSIGNMENTS

The Intelligent Tutor lessons presented to students will vary widely based on their assessment scores and current skill levels.  Teachers may want to assign a particular NativeAccent lessons to their entire class.  The NativeAccent teacher dashboard provides this feature.  Teachers have the option to create class assignments which exist outside the curriculum path created by the students’ Intelligent Tutor paths.

CREATE A CLASS ASSIGNMENT:

  • Click the ADD ASSIGNMENT button

  • A window will appear with a list of all the lesson types on the left side

  • Click to view LESSON LIBRARY and select the lesson focused on the target skill

  • Click and drag a lesson from the left side list and drop onto the right side list to create a “playlist” of lesson activities.  Each lesson is 15 minutes long

  • Give your lesson plan a name

  • Click ASSIGN button

The assignment will appear instead of the Intelligent Tutor path when the student next logs in.  When the student completes the assignment, the Intelligent Tutor path will re-appear.

ASSIGNING AN INTERIM OR FINAL ASSESSMENT

Each student follows a unique learning path and has different active learning times.  Sometimes you may want to create an assessment befor or at the end of the session (weeks, semester, quarter).  Follow the ADD ASSIGNMENT process above and select ASSESSMENT from the lesson library.  The assignment will appear instead of the Intelligent Tutor path when the student next logs in.  When the student completes the assessment, a new Intelligent Tutor path will appear, based on their current skill scores.

ADD INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENTS

Teachers may want to assign work for individual students.  Teachers have the option to create individual student assignments, in addition to the curriculum path created by the NativeAccent Intelligent Tutor program.  To create an assignment:

  • Click on the name of the student in the Student Roster on the course dashboard

  • Click the ADD LESSON PLAN button

  • Follow the steps above for creating an assignment
